One of our favorite makers of pottery and planters is Campania. Starting as a regional importer of terra cotta from Italy, Campania has grown to become an industry leader in the design, manufacture and sourcing of garden containers, fountains and statuary. They have partnered with The Preservation Society of Newport County, Rhode Island to create the “Newport Mansions Collection” by Campania. This elegant collection of garden containers and ornaments was reproduced from antique originals which grace the exceptional gardens of the famous Newport mansions. Other design inspirations range from earthy rusticity to crisp contemporary. Following the success of their Bois Benches, they have developed a new series of faux bois planters and a collection of planters modeled on Antique French boxes used to gather champagne grapes. They also have a new series of fresh contemporary fountains and birdbaths which incorporate naturalistic incised designs and a grand new estate fountain, The Charleston Fountain. And of course, there are tens of the little things that make people smile from an armadillo (for our Texas friends) to “Purrfect Friends” and many other delightful new pieces.
